Parkview Diner a quirky great place in Pilsen
I love quirky little joints to eat or drink in. I read about the Parkview sometime back. After wandering around the Pilsen neighborhood today, I decided to have lunch there.
The Parkview is small on the verge of being tiny. There are no tables, just a counter that zig-zags around the place.
The food is big and delicious. I had the chilaquiles con pollo. These were the best chilaquiles I ate in a long time.
Coffee is served in Mexican style decorative mugs.
Other plates I saw were just as hearty.
The menu is a combination of traditional diner food and Mexican specialties. They serve menudo on weekends. The gentleman next to me ordered a bowl. That will be my next meal there.
The prices are reasonable. My bill came to just over twelve bucks. Not bad, since I barely finished that large platter of food.
The Parkview gets slammed on weekend mornings. Better to get there in the afternoon, since service can be slow.
The food is well worth the wait.
